Well Hello everyone, hope you are all having a fantastic weekend,I have finally finished my Owls and I am so happy with them <3
I spent three days stitching up the owls, so it didn't take that long, all together took around a week from start to finish, Here are some photographs, please excuse the creases! Haven't got around to washing/ironing it yet. (planned for tomorrow morning)
Have not decided how to finish them yet either - any ideas? I normally just frame finished stitches, but something different for a change would be nicer I think :)
I have also been quite naughty! Instead of spending the weekend on Geisha - I ended up starting something new! Whoops!! The chart is from a Pollyanna Pickering book Called 'Mother and Baby Cross Stitch'
This is the picture once finished :)
Here is my progress from yesterday and today...
To be fair I shouldn't have started it at all, I don't have all of the threads that I need (have to put that order in!) I didn't have the right count Aida (supposed to be 16ct Aida, I had 14ct) or the right colour (supposed to be beige and I had white!) but thought I'll have a go anyway just make it more unique :D
I Promise to update Geisha soon - I have a day off work tomorrow, so will hopefully fingers crossed have a few hours stitching time, Hope you all have a lovely Sunday night ahead of you
Gems x
I love the owls, very cute. What about a wall hanging, with owl fabric? And mother and baby looks so difficult with all the whites and browns. You are braver than me.
ReplyDeleteAww thank you hun, Hopefully I will be brave and will be able to finish the wolves, there's only around 8/9 different colours in the whole design! X
DeleteI love your owls. They are adorable. Maybe you could finish them into a pillow. With the right fabric it would be just too cute.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lei! I have plenty stash of fabric so Ill have a look over the weekend to see if I have any suitable for the backing of my little owls X
DeleteI absolutely love your owls! Sometimes you need a new finish to really get you going (I just did the same thing myself.) I agree with the pillow idea. I think this would look awesome as a pillow. Can't wait to see the finished product - whatever it is you decide on!
ReplyDeleteThank you Alissa for your suggestion, I believe it will look good as a pillow too, just have to find the right backing for them now :) and then nag my mother to sew it for me on the machine! Hand stitching I can do - Machine stitch is another thing completely!! X
Deletehello
ReplyDeletejust joined your blog.
Your owl finish is so very cute.
Great start on the Mother and Baby too.
